Format & line up.

Puss' Poetry editions are always free and do not work with sign ups. Every edition follows the same format.

The doors open at 20:15 and the evening starts with a musical act, then everyone is welcomed by the team, elaborating on what the evening will look like. Afterwards, the first intermezzo starts from one of the team members, also introducing the first poet from the line up. When the first poet is finished, it is time for the second intermezzo followed by the second poet. Then it's time for the open stage and special awards. After the open stage we take a short break to get some drinks, connect and have a look at the stands.

When the break is over and everyone is seated again, the same format applies until the event is over.

The curated line up is a mixture of experienced poets and first time performers, who are invited by our team members.

Open stage.

The open stage is your moment to share your own writings with the audience.

We encourage everyone who wants to participate to perform. We love to hear your original writings (translations of your own work are not necessary, but still very welcome).

There is always a lot of interest for the open stage, therefore please keep in mind the following:

  • To participate, simply write your name on a piece of paper and drop it into the jar at our stand.

  • Keep it short, as we try to let as many people perform as possible. The maximum length of each work should be about half an A4 size paper.

  • Every language is welcome.

  • We ask everyone to only read their own original poetry or prose.

  • Puss' Poetry welcomes everyone, therefore we make sure to have an atmosphere of safety and respect. We don't check writings for the open stage in advance, however, if we find the content of the poem disrespectful, harmful, or discriminating, our team members will take action.

  • Please, do not scream into the microphone.

Stand.

You will find our stand right at the entrance.

Here you can drop your name into the jar for the open stage, donate to us and buy our merchandise!

Here you will also find the Poetry Jar where you can leave and take poems written by our audience!

Receiving donations and selling merchandise are extremely helpful to us as a non profit organisation which is mainly dependent on funding. This is how you help us continue creating our events and more!

Thank you so much in advance.

Extra's.

We like to make it a fun and outgoing event. Therefore we have some recurring and irregular extras.

We always give away awards, just for you, as a token of our appreciation. The criteria are made up on the spot.

We also like to experiment. Sometimes we screen short poetry movies and do other crossovers.
